My uncle keeps telling me that the Celtics will fade because they do not have enough depth, and the "Big 3" will be worn out come playoff time. "Peaking too early", he yells at the TV.

He's a huge Knicks fans and a little "nutty" on top of that, so I would like a second opinion.

23 games does not make a season. Even if they win 70 games or more, it is no guarantee in the playoffs. Just take a look at the Dallas Mavericks, or Pistons, for example, in recent years. Of course they are greatly improved, and will probably finish at least in the top 3 or 4 in the league, but I agree with others weighing in on this topic that the lack of a bench will be a major flaw come playoff time.

Unlike the Pistons, they're a three man team. Granted, they have three high caliber players, but can they sustain their play over the course of a 82-game season, and then the playoffs? Probably not. They have a great shot of going to the ECF, but not winning the whole thing.

It looks like it. Their big three aren't even having to contribute that much individually and they're still winning. Of course, they also didn't play that many great teams in the last month, so that's why they've won so many games.

Their opponents in the upcoming months are going to get a little bit tougher, so we'll see how they fare against better competition.

Personally, I think they're the real deal.

They are very good but its a 3 man team. If 1 gets hurt they are in trouble. When the playoffs roll around they could be worn out if they don't get something out of their bench.

The Celtics do come up a little short when they go to their bench but if the big three in Garnett, Pierce, and Allen stay healthy they will be tough to beat.

First off let me say that I am a ride or die LAKERS fan! That being said, I really hope that the Celtics are for real and that they have the skills to beat the Spurs in the finals.

It appears they are for real dude, tell your uncle to complain to the Knicks and get rid of Isiah and half the team and maybe they could rebuild and be good in a few decades.

when has kevin Garnett has yet to slow down and he carried the wolves all last season. Paul pierce hasn't slowed down in a few seasons. Ray allen has slowed down. but you have to think that all these players min have been cut down because of each other. Garnett is playing 4 mins less right now then he did last year. ray allen is playing 2 min less then he was last season. and paul piece min went up becasue he was hurt last season and they didn't want him to get hurt any more. and there bench isn't that bad they have guys who can step it up at any time eddie house, rajon rondo, geln davis, kendrick perkins, james posey haven't played well so far but they all can still play well Rajon Rondo only in his 2nd season and is getting much better. glen davis is still really young but is really learning from KG this team has a very underrated bench. i don't see them slowing down anytime soon.

theyre a good team, it's not that theyre going to get tired, the big 3 will play their game. It's how will rondo do later in the stretch. rondos been a big part of their success. they got 3 star players who arent selfish, theyre vets that only want to win. they did a good job of bringing in 2 stars who actually compliment pierces game.
