HO! HO! HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS! This is Santa and we all have to worry about getting little Billy that ipod from Radio Shack and dad wants an HD TV from Circuit City and mom needs that diamond necklace from Zales and......etc. Don't forget to put it all on that Master Card!
April fool, there really is no war. Just a police action to keep our troops in practice...and make money for our military industrial complex machine so keep on spending those dollars. After all they are not worth that much now anyway.

They're scared to talk about it.
With violence down because of the surge, it's hard for Democrats to use it to criticize Republicans.
Since the surge has to end in the Spring or Summer and the Iraqi government has done nothing even with a more peaceful environment, Republicans are scared to brag much about the reduced violence.
If the Iraqi government continues to sit on their hands in Baghdad's Green Zone, violence will rise right back where it started last Spring as soon as the surge ends and you'll hear plenty about it from Democrats.
If the Iraqi government somehow awakens from their stupor and starts governing the country, the surge will have accomplished its purpose and you'll hear plenty about it from Republicans.

the reason it was forgotton is that for the first time WE ARE WINNING and the media does not want to report this becuase it might look like Bush isn't a *complete* moron if ppl knew this, so the media runs the stories in little blurbs way in the back and focusses on christmas spending instead.
IED's are being caught and defused, and fewer area going off. the Sunnis have gotten sick of beheadings and cutting off hands so they have gone from refusing to vote to working with US forces to id terrorists. security has returned to many places and the most violent element is keeping quiet and laying low.
THAT IS WHY IT WAS FORGOTTEN.

I'd say ask George. He's the one who has to ask the nation to be a part of this. O he's just spent (in the end) 2 trillion or so while most of us just took a tax cut. Many care but takes 60 votes in senate, not 48.

The Iraq War will not end because the Iraqis do not want the democracy that is being forced to them because they wanted to stick to being an Islamic state.

What exactly would you like to happen? I was over there and I was sure as hell glad that life here went normal and the Superbowl wasn't canceled or Xmas wasn't downplayed. Yea, that's all my family needs, remind them even more. We know they are there and give constant support but life must go on.

We haven't forgotten, but ever since their has been real progress there the media has covered it less and less because they want people to think the war is a disaster and Bush is a terrible president.
