I know a lot of people out there had high hopes for this guy, based on his stirling record as an admiral in a Tom Clancy movie and as a lawyer on NBC, but do you see now the danger in hoping for the mysterious savior to de-Bushify your party?

What I can't understand is how they traded him in like a used car for Huckabee in a matter of weeks. I think he has a decent sense of humor, especially when he mocked Alan Keyes at the last debate. They are spending more time attacking Hillary then deciding exactly who it is that they want. That is the same mistake the democrats made when they were picking someone to go up against Bush in 2004, it is more important to build up your candidate then attack the other.
Not that I want Hillary to win the nomination. One random though is that some of them think he is a typical "hollywood type", and they hate them.
Lets keep in mind that they did elect Ahhnold as governor and Regan, and even tried to get Mike Ditka to run as a republican for senator in Illinois in 2004. Their president is a failed businessman who couldn't cut it in the Air National Guard.

I think its indicative of the political system in general. When you look out at the field, Democrat and Republican, and see nothing that really excites you as a voter, you might be tempted to look for that knight in shining armor to come riding in. I think that was the hope for a lot of people before Thompson entered.
Now that's he's here, though, that armor looks a bit rusty.

There is nothing wrong with Fred Thompson expressing disagreement with The President. At least he does so with respect !!
