Just watched it now what an amazing beautiful film. Did you like it?

It is one of my favorite movies. I like most any film (especially foreign, and even more so Spanish) that blends fantasy with reality. The combination of a mystical world and the horrors of the Spanish civil war as seen through the eyes of a child made for a beautiful story.

I thought it was pretty terrible actually. The trailers and advertisements for this movie were EXTREMELY misleading. I went into this movie thinking it would be some mystical adventure with cool creatures and crap like that, since that is pretty much all they showed in the trailers.
Any movie I go into with those expectations should not have a scene where a man gets his face smashed in with a bottle in the first 20 minutes. Disturbing.
Utterly disappointing and just awful in my opinion.
I will have to give credit to the amazing scenery and excellent effects though.
*I'm glad I get a thumbs down for stating my opinion...

Yes. I thought the idea was well contrived and delivered onto the screen. The movie worked well in Spanish and I was pleased it wasn't translated into english. The subtitles worked well.

i thought it was amazing because it was very different but dark and it was a foreign film it cant get any better then that
