The music and lyrics combined, can sometimes reach right in to your heart and really pull you, and make you feel that the song was written specifically for you, even though the song was written about something the writer was feeling at the time. Thats the mark of a good songwriter, they will have some kind of empathy with the audience. It doesn't have to be a well known well loved song. It's easy to answer this question by stating a well known song, as some have, but that doesn't really explain the why.
One that does it for me is 'Is it any wonder' by the Chamelons, who you probably won't have heard of, yet the song might have been written about a situation I faced some yeard ago. Beautiful song.

It plays at the right moment when one is in that state of mind. It has to have great, simple lyrics and should not always mention love, even if it is talking about it. A message within the song is far more special than a song with the obvious. The singers need to understand the emotion behind the song. Computerized voice can only give a cold feeling and therefore, it will not be a classic.
The one thread they all have in common is that there is something that evokes a special feeling way deep down inside. I just melt "into" the music or lyrics. It maybe the lyrics that remind me of a good time, a special person, or some such. Sometimes it maybe a specific guitar riff, a drum solo, a saxophone instrumental that just "hits the spot". ELO's "Evil Woman" and "Strange Magic" have such an effect. Hollies' "Long Cool Woman" is another. Journey's "Separate Ways" and "Don't Stop Believing" are others.

It's special because the Scissor Sisters, the whole band, are very inspiring to me. Jake especially, I've been a fan since a very hard time in my life, and the lyrics of their songs have really helped me through a lot. They remind me that I'm not alone in this world, that there are other people out there like me. It's a great song, I wouldn't be the same person without the Sisters.i have lots a favourites and cant say i like any one of them best, but its the way the music is composed, and the way the voices of the singer fit so majestically with the music, you don't have to be a great singer to make a great song (as some of the spice girls know full well *cough cough*) But you have to feel it, I wish I could have the voices that some people have sometimes, but I don't want the fame that comes with it.even for the worse but that will be for the wrong reasons, but you (if you are Emma Bunton) have not done anything major that can be of a difference to ppl and life in general. Poeple like Nelson Mendela, Ghandi, Mr Azam, (Founder of Pakistan) Abraham Lincoln, Muhammad Ali and many other people who have talent & the brain to make a difference for the better and means something to the open minded intelligent people, but sadly for you is that you dont come into that catagory, thats why people like you end up having miserbale lives, disrespected, rejected from soceity because you let this false fame go to your head.

My guess, and I am just shooting from the hip here: My guess is that your soul is somewhat empty when you look back on your career. My guess is that your groups music was written and directed without soul and even after all the money and fame that went to your creators...you have a kind of emptyness inside. My favorite song, by my favorite band, is Ooh. It's special because the Scissor Sisters, the whole band, are very inspiring to me. My favourite song is Gorecki by Lamb. What makes it so special is the transe it puts me in. A good song in my opinion is a song that makes you go somewhere in your self and daydream. You are where you are physically while you listen, but your mind is anywhere except at the same place than your body. Music is one of the few things in life that lets me go away without doing so. There's nothing like unhooking from life for a few minutes and feeling a moment of awakening with your soul, Lamb puts me in that mood all the time. But any beat that is not pre-chewed or highly marketed can do that effect. You always have an emotion attached to things, and music is one of the most powerfull stimulant of emotionnal recollection, that is why people like some music in particular. Gorecki is the song that describes love the best way to me, it makes me go everywhere happy I've been in my life...
If I had a favourite Spice Girl music, I'd say Spice up your life, cause you girls looked like you were having fun back then and it makes me think of my happy years, don't take yourselves too seriously girls, that is what people liked about you then and would like about you now too if you weren't stressed at being as big as you were, just be yourselves as we've come to like you in your first years... Pinch a couple more stuck-up butts, you'll understand what I mean!

Also included are some of his older works from before and during the cinema years like "Good Luck Charm", "Love Me Tender" and "Old Shep". So no blue shoes, no sequinned jump suits, just the king singing about life, love and heartache.
