Lol. My husband would agree with you.
You get what you pay for. I would say skin care products. I tried the Wal-Mart version of Cetaphil and it is nothing like Cetaphil. I didn't find that it saved me any money because it didn't last as long.
Edit: As a former certified pharmacy technician, there isn't a difference between the generic and brand name. None. It's pure marketing. Sometimes the generic has better quality inactive ingredients. The active ingredients are exactly the same. I have compounded medications before so I do know about what goes on in the process. I also read pharmacy trade magazines.

Toilet paper, make up, and face scrubs and all the stuff. Pretty much everything I don't even buy cheap perfume, clothes or jewelrry or any of that stuff. Designer all the way hun.
