TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida State coach Bobby Bowden called off an afternoon practice Wednesday to meet with his players, about two dozen of which are expected to be suspended for the Music City Bowl for involvement in an academic cheating scandal.
The university, citing federal privacy laws, has not identified the athletes being disciplined for cheating on an online music history exam. At least two football players already have been penalized for their involvement.

Athletes from other sports were also involved.

Have you ever taken an online class before? Do you have any idea how easy it is to cheat while taking one? They're practically open book unless an exam involves writing an essay or solving equations. I'm sure that 99.9% of students who take online classes use their books or other references while taking exams.

If the NCAA were to investigate other schools for academic infractions, FSU players cheating on an online music history exam would seriously pale in comparison.

The problem isn't that they cheated, but they were given answer by a tutor/instructor. It's an internet exam... music history... if they wanted to cheat they could have done like any other student and used google. But to get the answers to an internet exam on music history is just moronic.

But then again, just like the pros it's only cheating if you get caught.

Come on! Who cheats on an internet test. What a bunch of morons!
I really feel sorry for UK that earned the right to be in the Music City Bowl and now the focus is going to be on the players that aren't going to be able to play.
They should knock the whole team out of the bowl and let UK play a full team.

i'm with tech golfer...

there was an offensive lineman who was supposedly a ChemE major a year before me. while all of us normal ChemEs were living at the lab, he was never seen...save for once or twice during the semester and of course when they'd use a picture of him doing lab work at the AICHe regional meetings. the few times i met him, he seemed like a nice enough guy...and didn't seem like a dumb jock, but they sure paved his way.

The whole state of Florida is nothing but thugs. They should build a barbed-wire fence around the whole state and call it a day.
