She wants the $250.00 new version with 8 GB that holds 20,000 songs. I think this is very excessive. But, she prefers the style of this over the cheaper ones. Should i invest in this for a Christmas gift or get one less expensive that she probably won't like as much?

She's 10. Why does she need one? I say if you really want to still please her and you can afford it, get an Ipod Nano that holds less songs. Why does she need 20,000 songs? I'll tell you why; because the commercial and her friends say so. It's ridiculous. She'll like anything that you get as long as it's an Ipod because it's more than her friends have. Don't give into her every whim, because there may come a day when you can't afford it, and she really wants it. Also, if you get her anything else with the Ipod, make everything else something that she needs like clothes or something. Merry Christmas.

Up to you, if you have the money get it, well worth the money, but for a 10 year old likely to get stolen or damaged and then you cant get it repaired or returned if this happens, pick up a decent sencond hand one off ebay.

I would personally get her a shuffle, hidden away if you lose it not worth much.

There nano before this new one is also in black comes in 8gb. Try that one this is the one im tallking about.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-iPod-nano-8GB-Black/dp/B000HZDE2Y
will be $200 for you around if bought new amazon sell them.

The only thing is it isnt the new design so what still very light and gorjus.

Let me know if you want more help.

Happy to help.

Well, first off the 8GB only holds 2,000 songs
And one thing you should know:
iPods are extremely popular, but EVERY september Apple comes out with brand new iPods, and the old models are forgotten, and every year the kid wants the new one!

These models are really top of the line..
10 is actually pretty young..
but, you should buy the iPod because of the amazing warranties they give you, and everything
(trust me, ive broken my ipod mroe than once, and got replacements free everytime)

so get the ipod, unless you want to tell your kid to wait a year or two; but they probably wont want to, ..
=P the ipod is worth it though, because mine has lasted for many years!

Get her a shuffle. Then get a nano for her brithday if she doesn't lose or destroy the shuffle. I ask this, Ever noticed how people who have iPods are isolated from the world? At the gym, on the bus, in the streets, at HOME even? A ten year old should be experiencing the world through his/her own eyes, not through the lyrics of Hannah Montana.

Shuffle is the lesser of the two evils. it continues to be puzzling to function, except you're already "plugged in" easily i'd get him an MP3 participant that has 10 cases the coolest factors and does an identical difficulty. San Disk makes an exceptionally astounding one, you merely would desire to keep around.

I don't think little kids should even own ipods or phones! she's too young even if she wants one dont give in! It's too risky. she might loose it! and then what? I know lots of kids who have lost their ipods and their parents are so stupid to get them another one! so I say if she really wants an ipod for x-mas just get her an mp3 player..it works as well! it's just cheaper!

I think to make her Happy on Christmas...get her what she wants! I want one too!
But if she isn't tha kind to be careful with expencive stuff then U would be better off getting her a less expencive one!

Get her a Sansa e200 series player. You can get 4gb for $99.

It is a very nice player.
