Or say they did give you one (1) but stopped after. Do you delete them hoping they will notice? Do you stay away a long time, say a week, and hope they will send out search parties complete with booze?

It's real simple. I pick contacts and friends who are smarter, wittier and above all funnier than me. So no BA's is par for the course.
However a pity vote once in a while would be acceptable.

Well if you don't deserve best answer and your answer is not quite adequate, then nothing to complain about. I don't delete on such basis. Yes I would feel neglected if my answer was so to the point and much better than others, and my contact chose some rediculous answer to be best. Best answer is most of the time subjective so it is not so important to me.

I would feel more neglected when I ask a direct question to my contacts, calling them "my contacts" in the question and they are around and they just ignore my question. That hurts!

No, I prefer to be given best answer by complete strangers. They are more objective.
I think Moley needs a best answer and a hug.

Ha! It's hard to make everybody happy. I try to give you one every 47 answers (that's how many contacts I have).

I don't mind not getting BA, and I don't always dish it out to friends.

Usually one of my contacts gets it though, their answers are what made them contacts in the first place.

Sounds like High School mentality to me.
Best Answers are supposed to be Best Answers, not "Oh who of my friends should I pick today".
