No I don't think it will. The first season was pretty good, it had some sick humour, but it didn't seem over board. When it went off the air and then came back, it was much more dirty. Now I have a child and even visually it is sick sometimes, so I can't even have it on if my 1 1/2 year old is in the room.
It is kind of like asking if "South Park" will become the all time greatest animated comedy. It won't happen because it only appeals to some people. Simpsons appeals to just about anyone. Young people and old. My Dad will watch "The Simpsons, but thinks "Family Guy" is stupid.

Family guy will become more popular than the simpsons. The simpsons were cool back in the 1990s because it was new and somewhat controversial at the time. Going to catholic school when I was younger, they told parents not to let your kids watch the simpson. I watched it anyway.
Family Guy is still somewhat new and controversial. A lot of people love it. I liked family guy when they came out in 1999 and I didn't understand why they cancelled it. Now that they brought it back, I have been watching it eve since.
Family Guy will probably stay popular for another ten more years.

I don't think so. In my opinion Family guy is not suitable for children and The Simpsons is. So with that said I believe Family Guy will never surpass The Simpsons.

Family Guy is the most overrated show ever created. I would rather watch the Golden Girls reruns on TVLand. Family Guy is not, and will never be, remotely in the league of the Simpsons. The Simpsons is a satire relevent to current situations, while Family Guy is just a bunch of random nonsense a monkey could laugh at .

absolutely not. family guy will have to be going for another decade or so before it even gets close.
not only that, but family guy uses the simpsons as its inspiration. and family guy's episodes are all pretty much the same...it's this endless 'like the time when i...' flashback clips to make their jokes.
don't get me wrong, they had a few really great episodes...but greatest animated comedy of ALL TIME? no way.

Considering they borrow A LOT of material from the Simpsons....No way! The Simpsons have been around for years. I don't think Family Guy can even compete with that.

Nope not even close. Family guy is funny, but there is not enough of a "cast" in family guy to ever compete with the Simpson's. Not only that, if you have watched any lately they are beginning to piss me off, they are getting to political, and the wrong direction for me.

It is absolutely possible, but don't get me wrong, The Simpsons are great, but Family Guy is hilarious. I love The Simpsons and all but Family Guy is probably better in my opinion, but I would never stop watching The Simpsons.

I'm sure that Family Guy is capable of surpassing the Simpsons. I don't even think the Simpsons are that funny anymore compared to Family Guy.
