Simms had maybe the greatest Super Bowl of any quarterback in 1987. he completed 22 of 25 passes (2 of the 3 incompletions were drops), and led the Giants to the title.
clearly better than the Boomer
By the way, Simms did finish the game, the just put in his backup Rutledge to run some trick plays- notably a fake punt which kept a scoring drive alive.

Aren't they the same guy? Seriously, Boomer had maybe a bit more raw talent, but Simms was a bit better of a game manager. Might be because Simms had a much better defense to fall back on. I would say equal.

Phil was good and efficient; but he was never a game breaker. He did what the Giants needed - they had a dominant defense and strong running game. They didn't need Phil to throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's. As a result, he had a great winning percentage and decent stats.
Boomer was a better QB though. Stonger arm, better pocket presence. But Boomer had to throw to win - Bengals didn't have strong defenses or running games (apologies to Ickey Woods).
Tech Golfer - Simms won the SB MVP in 1986 with the highest completion percentage in SB history. He also led the 14-2 team in 1990, though he got hurt and his backup actually won the super bowl. Boomer did make one and almost led an upset of the 49ers.
Yeah, they both sucked.

What's with the first post and the USC thing? He keeps posting the same thing over and over again.
Phil Simms is the better QB. He is a Super Bowl champion while Boomer is a Super Bowl Bust.

Phil Simms has a Super Bowl ring...In fact, 2...but Jeff Hostetler started and played through one of them...Boomer Esiason has been there, but lost...Neither one of them exactly lit it up like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning...Simms and Esiason had stronger running games...but I would pick Phil Simms over Boomer Esiason...

Mike S and Tech. Golfer win the award for most ignorant.
I would go with Boomer for raw talent, and ability to carry a team. He did lose to Joe Montana in the superbowl.
If I had to start a team, I would go with Boomer.
