It depends on what you mean by serious. Not necessarily toward marriage, but for me the sense that it will be a long term love is nearly immediate, if there is mutual physical and intellectual attraction.

My boyfriend and I became serious almost after a month and a half. Im not talking about serious as in sex or anything like that. We are just serious on an emotional level because we talk all of the time and about anything and everything. It seems early to the both of us, but we cant help but feel this way. I think it all depends on the type of person you are in a relationship with and what kind of person you. As in....how well you share your feelings and such things like that.

When I was dating, it depended on the person I was seeing. With my honey - I knew inside of a month that it was going to be a serious, long term thing. With others - it was months of wondering if I really wanted it to be serious.
