Not as slaves, though. Any slaves had been freed in 1773 (not 1833, which was the British Empire territories) by Lord mansfield's legal decision. Parson Woodforde met a black man travelling around in Norfolk in the 1780s. Dr Johnson had a black servant named Francis Barber, whose white wife gave him 'some Othello trouble'.
London, Bristol and Liverpool had black communities. In fact, if we can go back to fiction, it could be that Heathcliff is Earnshaw's son by a black or mixed race mistress in Liverpool.

yes there were black people living in the u.k. during the days of oliver twist.
at this time it was rare to see a black person in the uk, but they were here.

Yes. There would have been African slaves who came over with the Romans, and the slave trade in the the second millenium would have ensured there were some in Britain. There also seems to have been an influx of people from Northern Africa before the Romans came.

Of course there were.
The majority of slaves in UK were black.
Although slavery had been abolished back in 1808, they had no way to return to their own country.
So, yes there would have been black people in the UK

There have been Africans in Britain dating back for 1800 years. If you mean due to slavery, it was abolished in 1833. Even the Queen of England admits to having some African ancestry. look it up

The was a black court trumpeter in a painting of either Henry VIII or Eilzabeth I, so I think you can safely assume they were here in Dickens time.
