With all the rules and regulations (ha) of pregnancy it's hard to know what medication is ok to take and what is not. Most medications are not allowed during pregnancy but if you are under severe stress and have panic attacks that could affect the baby! I would try doing some yoga and stop drinking caffeine all together first. This helps with my anxiety.
Don't let others write that you are stupid for asking this question. Check out the info about zoloft www.zoloft.com

I found this website as well http://depression.emedtv.com/zoloft/zoloft-and-pregnancy.html

Or try reading some blogs where actual caring pregnant women talk about their experience with anxiety and pregnancy..here is one I found for you

My doc had told me that there were SOME antidepressants that were ok during pregnancy, so ask.

And I must add that if you have severe problems with depression, it is better to stay on something even while pregnant. It's better to have a calmer pregnancy than have many, many problems mentally. Been there, done that. I went off Zoloft when I found out I was pregnant, and my husband was not very nice to me during the pregnancy and ended up leaving me when I was 9 months pregnant. I was very depressed and should have stayed on something.

What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking sertraline?

You should not use sertraline if you are allergic to it, if you also take pimozide, or if you are being treated with methylene blue injection.
Do not use sertraline if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine. After you stop taking sertraline, you must wait at least 14 days before you start taking an MAOI.
To make sure sertraline is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:
- liver or kidney disease;
- seizures or epilepsy;
- a bleeding or blood clotting disorder;
- bipolar disorder (manic depression); or
- a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts.
Some young people have thoughts about suicide when first taking an antidepressant. Your doctor should check your progress at regular visits. Your family or other caregivers should also be alert to changes in your mood or symptoms.
Taking an SSRI antidepressant during pregnancy may cause serious lung problems or other complications in the baby. However, you may have a relapse of depression if you stop taking your antidepressant. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Do not start or stop taking this medicine during pregnancy without your doctor's advice.
It is not known whether sertraline passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Do not give sertraline to anyone younger than 18 years old without the advice of a doctor. Sertraline is FDA-approved for children with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It is not approved for treating depression in children.

My OB-GYN told me there were just a few drugs that were ok and he told me that Zoloft is one of them. I take Zoloft and I could get pregnant at any time. He has many patients who have taken it and had perfectly normal children.

i finished up having severe postpartum melancholy after my first daughter (she had colic, reflux, GERD). i finished up taking Zoloft and we controlled to get by way of some very tough cases.To keep away from the post partum whilst i became into pregnant with my son (my mom had additionally kicked the bucket jointly as i became into pregnant, besides as 2 different family), I took Lexapro it somewhat is a cleanser version of Zoloft (my psychiatrist's phrases) - fewer component outcomes (form of like slightly sister med). He became into an entire term , 9 lbs 9 oz..toddler devoid of problems. (and that i'm no longer asserting it does no longer have component outcomes in yet somebody else - merely bearing on my tale). My healthcare expert positioned it to me this way - he pronounced in case you have a woman who's attainable to herself (which in turn would be attainable to the toddler) then the drugs are nicely worth taking jointly as pregnant, as you attempt to sidestep a doubtlessly risky concern - the advantages outweigh the hazards there. melancholy & psychological ailment are merely that - ailments like others which you will take drugs for if medically needed in the superb concern. each and every now and then the customary psychotherapy and organic supplementations are not sufficient. In those cases in case you will preclude a mom from committing suicide or putting herself in a risky concern, then they actually would desire to be prescribed. merely you and your healthcare expert know your concern, so i'd communicate it with him/her. you may desire to outweigh the advantages and risks inclusive of a experienced scientific expert, examine up on the component outcomes and make an training determination jointly. each and every now and then the hormones of being pregnant can completely wreak havoc on your psyche. returned, surely communicate approximately it inclusive of your healthcare expert... possibly they're going to ask you to attempt psychotherapy first to have somebody experienced examine your concern. I desire you good luck and a healthful 9 months!

Zoloft is an anti-depressant, not anti-anxiety. And no, nothing, nada, for the baby's sake.

NO!

Over 99% of the drugs on the market can harm or KILL a foetus.

Ok, I may be exagerating the percentage, but talk to your MD (or psychiatrist, as the case may be) about alternative treatments!
