Yes - sadly by the Africans themselves.
Look primarily to the activity in the Sudan, Darfur, Northern Africa. The Gulf States are particularly heinous "beneficiaries."
Such was the same in the 17th, 18th, 19th Centuries when Africans captured and sold their fellow Africans to the "White Man" to be shipped overseas. How else do you suppose those poor people were ripped away from their homes and families, marched 1,000 miles across the Continent and loaded onto ships for the "New" World?
Unfortunately, most of our children are unaware of the Africans' involvement in the slave trade. And we, as teachers, are practically forbidden to mention the Africans' part in it. We do so under penalty of angry parents and downright nasty children - even though we're right.
Edit re: "colored" comment...
I can't use the word ***** or I have 12 and 13 year olds sassing, screaming... then, of course, they go home and tell their parent, or caregiver, and it's a Federal Case.
I used it last week in connection with a video we were watching on the Middle Passage. When the Africans reached our shores they were advertised for sale. Several ads used the word "*****" or a version thereof. I repeated it when pointing the ads out to the students - I was literally SCREAMED at by MANY fine young men and women who took great offense. The video was produced and provided by the History Channel and is one of a series. I used THAT word in an historically accurate way - simply pointing out the ads to them as they threw pencils about the room and talked amongst themselves it being the day before their vacation started. (Can I say Christmas?)
I finally shut them up by saying something to the effect of "we are ALL Americans!" It didn't stop there - had a chat with the Principal at the end of the day. It stopped when I said I was going to start objecting (in writing) whenever someone didn't refer to me as a Scot-Irish-American rather than White or Caucasian. And further - write-up and assign detention to ANY student I heard using the "N" word. As doing this would effectively take up my entire day, he dropped it. It would also completely overwhelm the detention program.
Funny thing is they use the "N" word non-stop all day long in the hallways, cafeteria, even the classrooms.
Such, most unfortunately, is the future of our Country. Anyone want to take any bets on how it all ends up?
Scares the s**t outta me.

Prisoners of war? I don't think so! The trans-Atlantic slave trade was a massive industry which treated fellow human beings as a commodity to be bought and sold at will, like tea, sugar and coffee. When they finally got to America they were treated as a lower life form. Their master's poodles were treated in a more civilized manner than they were. Why does white America constantly complain about African Americans? What do they expect? I'm not surprised African Americans yearn for their African past. Not been been very well treated in America, have they?

Yep...slavery is still alive and well amongst the inhabitants of that continent.
Say...why don't these people who snivel about "Poor us...we've been oppressed for 200 years" types go over there and campaign for freedom? Oh...I forgot...if you do that the police come and take you away. Forever.
Cowards. Can't really be serious about a cause if you aren't willing to sacrifice your life for it are you?

Yes, most assuredly. Blacks still sell blacks to one another.
But the biggest trade is with the Arabs. The filthy rich Arab sheiks have always bought black slaves; and it is still a quite common practice, even though they might deny it.
