My sisters computer is infected with God knows what so my mom and I just finished downloading Uniblue's Spyware Checker and free "tweaker." Whatever the hell that is. Anyways, after removing about 4 viruses, 4 malwares and a partridge in a pear tree, I decided to restart the computer to see if the pop ups would stop. As I was shutting down, end task popped up saying program "vgadumb.exe was not responding." I have NO IDEA what the hell that file is and apparently, no one else does either. I've done Google searches but found nothing so I'm hoping someone here may know.

For the wise *** who thinks I don't know jack about the internet: Google is NOT the holy grail it's known to be.

If a file format/virus is new, google will not list anything in the search results for a week or two. This happened to me before in this Trojan: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai8Wz0n94FQVP83qZYNv9kzty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070928005303AALStmn

A couple days after posting this, I did another search and found info on the virus and that was before my question became the main links posted on google. So there!

A thank you to everyone except the wise *** for answering my question. :D I haven't been able to get NEAR my sisters PC since her winter break started so I haven't been able to do anything. :( If I can get a chance, I'll try to see if its still there.

You have to look for Dumb.exe first, and then you will find quite a lot including>>>>>>>>>>>>>

http://www.fileresearchcenter.com/search.html?searchitem=dumb.exe&search=Search...

If you go through each one in link, you will find
some exe's starting with VGA ,even though i did
not find vgadumb,it maybe there but there's too
many to look through. Also many with dumb in it.
VGA = video graphics array ,as everyone knows!!!
What it has to do with it<>God only knows!

If you seperate VGA DUMB.EXE like this you
get the link below.
I think we can assume any exe with dumb in it is up to no good,so its good its not responding.
Can you and the elf stop fighting now and anyway
i'm off to my bed. Hope this helps.

Google knows!!! But, you have to learn how to use Google properly.

Search for the filename, with extension, and a "modifier", then Google will tell you if it's dangerous.

For example, Google for: vgadumb.exe malware

I just tried Google, and you're right, Google didn't find anything!

That tells me you probably spelled "vgadumb" wrong. Verify the spelling and try searching again. This is the #1 reason Google doesn't "appear" to work!!!

May be its a VGA error. May be your Graphics Driver is corrupted. Reinstalling the driver could fix it. Or If does not work try to uninstall the programs you have installed earlier, like Spyware, Antivirus or Adware. I hope so it will work. If it does not work (solves the problem), you can E-mail me again.
Regards.
