because x=log(A) is the same as 10^x = A and y=log(B) is 10^y = B

then AB would be

AB = 10^(x+y)

x=log(A)
10^x = A
y=log(B)
10^y = B
AB=10^x * 10^y
AB=10^(x+y)

if x = log A, then A = 10^x, and
if y = log B, then B = 10^y, so
AB = (10^x)(10^y) = 10^(x+y)

x=log(A) and y=log(B)
x+y=logA+logB
x+y=log(AB)
AB=10^(x+y)
