He does not want to pick me up after work to take me to the company x-mas party on Friday. He says it's nothing, just a bunch of painters getting drunk at the boss' house. Do you think something is up?

why does he have to go? if you cant go why does he have to go? well my ex had a party like that and it was an employee only party and guess what ? I found pictures of the party and my ex was dancing with some hoochie awfully close . well when the hoochies hubby saw these pics he came after my soon to be ex (I had already moved out of the house ) my neighbor told me all about it . He then proceeded to call my cell phone and ask me if I knew about this and I told him I was in the process of a divorce . I told him he could take care of it how he liked . Well the hoochie and her hubby are divorced now . My ex did not want her after that . My moral of this story is that xmas partys that dont allow spouses is trouble from the get go . good luck and merry christmas.

It really does all depend on if other spouses are going. Some companies don't do the traditional office party that is a little more formal. This really could be just a bunch of guys getting drunk, and if it is then I can understand his point of not wanting u to be there. Find out about the other spouses and u will probably feel better about the whole situation.

My husband is a carpenter and he has worked for companies that have had parties where the wives were invited. The company he is with now has never had that kind of party--usually the boss takes them all out to lunch and they get drunk together--they get their Christmas bonuses then too. I just make him let me drive him if he can't promise to behave. Some years he's been fine, othere years I drive. Don't worry about it--its a trades thing! aND SINCE THEY DON'T WORK WITH ANY WOMEN, WHY WORRY?

Yes something is up. Leave him alone!!! How old are you? You still haven't learned the facts of life?

1. There is no Santa
2. There might be a Bigfoot
3. All men cheat, almost all women cheat
4. Marriage ruins all relationships (moving in is the same)
5. Everyone lies (you even lie to yourself)
6. Life is not fair

Good luck and Happy Holidays. Email me
if you want to hear the truth. I don't lie.

Some companies have "family" christmas parties where spouses are invited and other companies have "non family" christmas parties where no one else but employees are invited.

Usually, painters are just a small group of guys. It wouldn't make sense for painters to have a "familY" Christmas party. I mean, who is going to "plan" it - blue collar guys usually aren't good at this stuff. It makes much more sense that it is just the guys having a few drinks.

So, stop worrying and use your common sense.

No I dont - usually bosses throw parties for their workers excluding wives. DOnt look for the devil behind the bush. Its all about trust. You have to trust and respect what your husband tells you and by doing that and showing him respect and treating him respectfully you win him hands down. You must remember you have the upperhand in your relationship. If you sit and mope and presume and assume things those things will come to you. if you are negative you will draw the negative right to your doorstep. Think positively and rid yourself of insecurity. He married you. he loves you. Let him have time with his mates and guess what parties like that end with dirty jokes and a little alcohol abuse and is not place for a lady. he is telling you that, so believe him.

Dont listen to trash people tell you here either. Take whatever is positive and work with that! HE IS NOT MESSING AROUND!

There are probably only going to be painters at this get together - no wives. It would be really uncomfortable for you to be there with a bunch of men.

If you want, just offer to drop him off and pick him up so he doesn't have to drink and drive.

Probably it is just a bunch of painters getting drunk at the boss' house. He doesn't want you there, but there is nothing up. "just a bunch of guys getting drunk at the boss' house"

Maybe they're having a stripper there or something.

I have the opposite situation - my man is upset that spouses weren't invited to my company xmas party. Nevertheless, I'm not going anyway.

Hmmmmmm! Doesn't sound good! How well does he know these guys? Is he planning to drink too? If so... hold him tight when you kiss him good-bye on Friday 'cause it may be the last time you ever see him! Good luck and Merry Christmas anyway!
