Because that is how God created us. men have to procreate to keep the species going. women are emotional beings, intuitive and sensitive, they nurture the young, and keep men aware of the things that are needed to insure a emotionally, balanced species. If we were all emotionally imbalanced what kind of society would we have? Men work to build society, and their job as procreators has never in jeopardy because it is their top priority. who can deny this fact.
But there is alot more to it life than that.
And by the way, your view of women as being self -centered needs adjusting . God said women are to be the helpers to the men. We naturally care about others. Women are the key to a thriving healthy society. with out us, you guys would be killing and raping eachother until there was not one of you left. Don't get me wrong, I'm not man hater or a feminist. But lets be reallistic here.

naturally men in the world are having responsibility to work hard and satisfy the women's needs..
men has to satisfy the women in all possible way and sex comes first and easy... then he tries to get wealth and money to protect the women and children...
this quality developed from tribal men and from animals...
men has to go for hunting and gathering the food ...
women has to control the family and more self centred to create her own family and self control like morality and controlling her men to be with her for continued love and affection..
even though women has sex feeling than men... she has been forced to be control herself for the sake of children in the family and punishments and ill treatments from the society..
if the women is not self centred... she will lose her role in the family set up..
she believes that self centred alone will keep her strong position in the life with men and children and living like a minster and controlling everyone in the family

many women are sex-focussed now in our days and self-centred. Both.
there are many married women cheaters out there now then ever but there are still good wife out there too.
we all know men think only about their pines, if you really think about it pines make a man and without it a man is nothing.

because nature has created them so...a woman needs social,financial security always...so she always tends to b self-centered...nothing wrong in it...a man always think in a sexual atmosphere..it is his nature,,,if u find time, read "Idibus complex" case from Sigmund Freud...he says that all the things in human life is sexual-centered...
