No, he cheated death too many times unlike alot of other people! I admire people who live life with abandon and do what makes them happy!

I live right outside of Butte. Many people here are sorry that he died. His funeral was a big event here.
I can't believe how little one heard about his death on the news. He was a big figure in his time and deserves some acknowledgement. I'm sad he's gone, but I glad he's no longer suffering. We'll remember him every year on the Evel Knievel Days.

Well, he was an icon. Many people around the world will feel his death. However, I am not shocked by his death. He had been ill for almost seven years, and when he announced on the The Adam Carolla Show that he needed supplemental oxygen therapy 24/7, I knew it wouldn't be long.
So, indeed Evel, RIP.

I'm also sad Dan Fogelberg, Kurt Vonnnegut, Brad Delp (Boston), Aaron Russo, Phil Rizzuto, Boris (Monster Mash) Pickett, Billy Thorpe and my gramma died this year. I guess everybody dies:(
Evel gave us many "cringe" and "look away" moments.
The Snake River Canyon in a rocket? LOL
He will be missed. RIP Evel.

Yes. Evel Knievel was one of my idols when I was growing up. I still admire him and his accomplishments. To me, he represents a time when our nation was in a lot better condition than it is now. There was still hope and our Constitution had not been destroyed.

In the oldin' days before reality TV and very little live entertainment, he brought excitement to many dull and mundane lives.
Somewhere in the great beyond, a white leather clad stuntman is breaking more bones for the sake of entertainment.

Yes, I think it is tragic. I remember when he jumped the Snake River canyon. I was a young girl but I loved him dearly. He invented extreme sports. He was to young but I know he sure won't be forgotten.
