Do think the stress of office and work schedule cause presidents to age faster. Look at Bush?

Stress does take it's toll on them over the 8 years... all of the Presidents I can remember in my life have looked so much older when they get out.

Of course.. by that time the media stops trying to make them look good as well... so that may be part of it.

Stress-Schmess. These Type-A's thrive on it. I think it is all to do with the typical age of coming into office. Compare pictures of anyone at 50 and then again at 60. It's just the decade in life when visible aging really kicks in and does not stop until you're dead.

Years ago I read an article that said a President ages an average of 10 years to each four years in office. It is an extremely stressful job no matter if you are performing well or not.

Same thing happened to Clinton, only I thought he looked worse than Bush at the end of his term. There is a lot of pressure in that job.

Yes, it does appear that they age faster than they otherwise would. I have noticed that with every president during my lifetime since I started paying attention to presidents.

Yes, being President ages everyone who has held the job. You can look at before and after pictures of all of them and they have all aged tremendously. It is hard to be the leader of a nation especially one considered to be the leader of the free world..

Sure and thus another reason that Ron Paul and Hillary should not be president. They don't have many more years left.

Heavy alcohol abuse will also make someone age prematurely. It may not be the office at all!
