I feel they might not know the sound effects of their actions can go through ceilings. give them the benefit of the doubt this time, mention it to them nicely and see what happens. Keep the revenge option until everything else fails.

We lived in a house that was only a downstairs apartment and upstairs apartment. We had the downstairs and when the people moved in upstairs we could not BELIEVE how loud they were! I swear they dropped everything they own at least ten times and then it sounded like everything they moved in they dropped down the stairs and then fell down after it! OMG!!! And not only did it take them a week to move, but they would do it at night and then to make matters worse they would hammer and drill at 10:30 at night after my kids were in bed (even the kids were tired of them). So a few nights before we moved out, the boys and I agreed (around 11 pm) that they wanted to listen to the ipod (through the big and loud speakers) I had in my room. Well, I had to turn it up because they couldn't hear it in their room ALL THE WAY down the hall (in the very next room about 2 ft from our bedroom door) - I had to think of the kids ;o) So we turned it (way) up. The kids actually went to sleep and the funny part is my 5 year locked and closed our bedroom door and it took us until about 1:30 a.m. to get the door open! I hope they liked Offspring, Metallica and anything else we have on the iPod!

The next time they wake you and your baby, take your baby up there and knock on their door and show them the results. Ask them why they are making so much noise. If that doesn't work, complain to the landlord. If that doesn't work, GET REVENGE! Superglue their front door lock. Call the electric company and pretend you are them and have their service cut off. Set up a fax machine to call their phone every 5 minutes (during the day of course). Bang a broom stick on your ceiling during the day. Is it a married couple? Have someone call and tell the woman that her husband is the father of her baby and he better come around and pay his child support like the judge ordered him to do. Have fun!

Revenge only begets revenge. So don't even go there. The next time you pay your rent, apply to move to another apartment, in the same complex so you don't have to pay any penalties. Land lords are usually pretty understanding about this. Now where in the next building do you want your apartment? C'mon put your thinking hat on ... upper most floor. That way YOU are the one on TOP and everyone else has to listen to your slamming of doors, stomping on floor and staying up until wee hours of the day. Never ever under any circumstances does one pick the bottom floor. Even in motels I always insist on the TOP floor.

sounds like thin walls and flooring that's the trouble of living on the bottom floor.Best thing to do is talk to them about problem if possible get one of them to stand in your apartment while the other makes noise might be they don't realize how bad it is below.Understand you wanting revenge but be awhole lot better if you could move for your insanity sake.If all else fails get a ladder and when noise gets bad enough smack a frying pan on ceiling

as much as you think revenge will feel good....Revenge could get you into lots of trouble and just make the problem worse. you have a kid to think about. ask the manager to speak to the people upstairs. there are disturbance laws. calling the cops isn't a bad idea either...but..... if things don't improve ask the manager to move you to another apartment(upstairs) in one of their quieter buildings. last resort....move out of the complex...the constant noise disturbances should void your lease. make sure to talk to the manager first before it comes to that ....document everything..if you have a camcorder or video on your cell record the disturbances. do the right thing.....best of luck !!

Actually Revenge is not always the best answer, it can backfire at you and end up in a Big War. I would complain to your LandLord and let him handle it first. If it continues, you may want to look for another place to move if possible..

Have your landlord contact their landlord about fixing the problem.
If you go ahead and do revenge, it could escalate, and the last thing your 10 month old son needs is his dad being beaten up or worse. Why not just try to solve it?
