You can sort them any way you like but I've found that if you put them on your hands first, let them take on personalities of their own as hand puppets, they are very capable of sorting the issue out among themselves. Takes a little longer but you'll have fewer problems with the escapees.

lay off the meth man.. designate a sock drawer and throw them all in... half the fun in the a.m. is trying to find a matching pair.

i say try organizing them by colour....or by the # of holes it has......or take a shoe box and throw them all in .....that works for mee...
