I know cheap cars are not real wood and that some luxury cars do have real wood or real wood options, but what about the 745Li? My boyfriend has one- that I drive all the time, LOL-and my friend asked me if the woodgrain was real. I said I hoped so since originally it was an almost $100K car. Please don't tell me the poor (not literally) people out there buying these cars brand new are paying for second class polymer!

Ohhh... Ms Leadfoot isn't content simply vaporizing our dwindling reserves of petroleum, she wants the last vestiges of the rainforest mounted to her dashboard for good measure? :P

Cheap polymer, indeed! Millions of R&D dollars went into making that faux finish fabulous!

Santa oughta bring someone a bike.. a recycled one :)

Real wood used. You can sand blast, and refinish them with polyurethane. Used in restoration process all the time.

Real wood is used going all the way back to the E23 and L7, the very first BMW 7 series.
