so since she'll, most likely, be in the hospital for Valentines Day, what are some really nice things I could do for her, to let her know just how much she means to me?

And how long after she has the baby is it, before we can do it some more?

As others have suggested, you can have sex, do pelvic rocks (like swiveling the hips or dancing) or go for a walk. However, you might want to ask her doctor or midwife if there is any reason why she shouldn't do some of the following. If you ask if she should do these, the doc will often just say no, because they don't know how effective they can be. A more effective way of asking would be if there's any reason that she *shouldn't* try them. 1. Nipple stimulation. Either by herself, you, or a breast pump. It might seem funny, but some serious heavy petting and really rubbing/sucking on the nipples can stimulate labor. Midwifes recommend it all the time! 2. Drinking castor oil. Its nasty tasting stuff and might give her diarrhea or make her vomit, but its an age old way to start labor. She'll have to drink several ounces - just make sure she has some juice or something to chase it with. 3. Accupressure. There are a few specific points to try. Apply firm pressure to the meaty part of the hand between the thumb and forefinger. Also, there is a really tender spot about 3 inches above the ankle bone on the inside of the leg. Feel around with firm pressure from you thumb - it will be tender and she may jump when you find it. Apply firm pressure to those spots for as long as she can stand, at least 10 seconds or so at a time. Those are some tried and true techniques that midwives have used for hundreds of years to stimulate labor. Just remember, only the baby can decide with he/she is ready to be born. Relax and enjoy the last few moments of calm before the storm! Congratulations!

the nicest thing you can do for her is to have the house spotless clean with a nice scented candle or 2 burning (don't burn the house down) and some food in the house that's nourishing (it means you have to cook AND clean up after yourself). wait on her hand and foot and get up with the baby in the middle of the night. if she comes home on valentines day maybe have like a dozen roses waiting on her and ask the florist if you can have some leftover petals and sprinkle a path to her bed and then sprinkle them all over the bed.. Make sure the bathroom is clean too! (cisco, baby, u can pay me later hehe)

as for the other part.. (tilting head sideways) pimpy dude are you my husband? he never waited even a week (four times --how did that happen-- i wonder!)

Merry Christmas and congratulations on your new bundle of joy.. Now excuse me while I go back to being insane.. That was too much sanity for me! ohhhhhhh the painnnnn

amen, let's eatttttt (the dingleburied guy is cooking!)

Let me start by saying congratulations! The birth of a couple's first child is always special. You could get her favorite lotion and rub it on her hands or feet, you could do her nails, you could offer to read to her or the two of you could play a board game on that adjustable rolling thing they have for you. I'm sure she would enjoy your company as much as anything! As for doing it again, I think 6 weeks is the normal waiting period.

And a voucher for VIP at Chip n' Dales.

6 weeks, and then she'll be fertile myrtle. So use contraceptives.

Does this mean that January 11 is off, or will she be coming also?
