We believe there is a game show similar to this in the States, do you watch it and how do you think you'd get on if you went on the show?

In the UK it's "10yr old".....sounds like our show is different from other countries shows then coz there have been some intelligent people on ours like an ex-teacher who did quite well...but in the end she had to say the words "I'm not smarter than a 10yr old"...we've not seen anyone get the top prize of £50,000 yet but it'll happen!

I think " Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader" is a good show.
I'm afraid I would walk out in shame at the end. Because some of those questions are about things the average person has not thought about in quite awhile. But some of them are quite familiar to me. We have had some intellectuals on the show over here in the States too. Some made it, some didn't.

"Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" I would probably fail miserably, not because I don't know the stuff, but it has been such a long time since I learned it that I wouldn't remember it. Those darn smart kids are in the midst of school, and the subjects are fresh in their minds. So of course they know it!
I just have to console myself with the thought that if those kids had to answer questions I would ask, they wouldn't know them either.
So there, you smart little show-offs!
There is the fact that those kids are learning stuff that didn't even exist when we were in school, too. I'm actually glad that today's kids are smarter than we are, it gives me hope for the future.

I found out I really AM smarter than a fifth grader and I have the certificate to prove it !!
you can enter your name and town or state and then if you win, you can print off a certificate that kind of looks like a diploma

Are you smarter than a 5th grader. Yeah...its a game show and know what? You'd be surprised as to how many people are not. We live in a nation filled with idiots.
Christ...one guy was asked what state Harry Truman came from. "Judging by his accent...I'd have to say Delaware".
Delaware???? Since when does a Missouri accent sound like Delaware? I don't even think denizens of Delaware HAVE an accent.
God help us because we're doomed.

I think I am smarter than a 10 year old. I know I have more wisdom. Now, a 12 year old-not so sure! My granddaughter is 12 and she is really smart! And the show is Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Those kids are actors, you know!

In the states it's smarter than a fifth grader. I can honestly say,
selectively and categorically an unconditional YES.

In Australia it is Are you smarter than a 5th Grader, the questions are so easy and the guests on the show are always dumb.
I think I would win easily if I went on the show, not just being cocky too.
I am 18 and I think being this age makes it easier because its easy to relate to kids and remember learning from school

Here in the US the show is called "Are you smarter than a 5th grader." I have seen it a couple of times. It is sad to see that so many adults aren't. It's appalling that so many don't know simple basic facts about our countries history. They embarrass themselves and most don't even realize it.
