castle rook and white king duh! assuming u haven't done it b4 cus its allowed just once

I don't think so. None of the pawns can move so as to attack the black king, so they're out. Bishop is on the wrong color square. King of course cannot attack. Knight always attacks squares of the opposite color, but it's now next to the king, so if it moved it would be on the same color, so it cannot put the king in check.

That leaves the rooks. If the rook at e4 moved to attack from f4, the pawn at e5 would take it. If it moved to attack from e3, the king could escape to g4. The rook at h1 can only attack by moving to f1, letting the king escape to g2.

If I were white, I'd worry about saving the rook at e4.

I don't see it yet, but I do want to say I don't think that rook to F-1 will work. Your king could move to G-2 and be safe for now. I will get back when I figure it out.

OK, with a castle that makes more sense.

castling: king moves to g1 and rook moves to f1 means checkmate for white. Thanks for the nice question.

No.
To checkmate in one move, white has to give check.
Three ways to give check in this situation:
R to f1, K escapes to g2
R to f4, PxR
R to e3, K to g4

Rook to f1

the knight is protected by the pawn.

How'd black ever get in such a fix?
