Do people (mostly Conservatives) who bash the "Democratic" controlled Congress understand how our government works? Do they understand that a majority of 1 in the Senate is not Veto proof? Do they know what a fillibuster is?

Do they know that this is the same thing the Dem's pulled when the Republicans had control of the house and the senate? Did you know that the Republicans were using the exact same methods that the democrats used? Why are you so upset? In Washington this is business as usual. The only thing that changes is the names of the people involved and that doesn't change nearly often enough.

No. No, they don't.
I had a chat the other day with someone about Roe v. Wade. The person held quite a few erroneous opinions:
1. That Roe v. Wade is a law, rather than the name of a court case.
2. That Roe v. Wade created a new law that hadn't existed before.
3. That if Roe v. Wade is overturned, suddenly, all the old state-level abortion laws that were revoked would suddenly and automatically be put into effect - as though new legislation wouldn't have to be written and passed through each state's legislative body in order to enact a new law.
It frightens me on a regular basis how very little people know about the way things work in their own country. It really does.
So the answer to your question is no. They haven't got the slightest clue.

I even understand little things like "non-binding" resolutions our democratic congress patted themselves on the back for passing... doesn't non-binding pretty much mean, well.... nothing? Evidently you are the one who has a problem with the system, I think it's working as it should. Too bad congress hasn't figured that out yet.

Prob not. and for those of you who don't know a fillibuster is when someone or a couple of people try to talk a bill to death, they can read anything they want including a phone book as long as they keep talking
