I think that people fall into a reliance on racial stereotypes which don't represent the majority of citizens in either country.
What people are fooled by is the fact that we both speak English. And, contrary to poular belief, there is hardly ANY difference between British and American English. Brits and Americans are more likely to understand each other than people in different parts or, say, Germany can understand each other. - So language doesn't divide us.
What DOES divide us is our core beliefs. Britain - technically less democratic because of monarchy - I believe is more democratic. America uses FORCE and the DEATH PENALTY to maintain law and order. In building their culture they built in the RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS into their culture - making them completely different to British people who don't have the same sense of handling ULTIMATE JUSTICE as a right, or even an obligation. The PLEA BARGAINING system in the courts in America means that instaed of real justice, inoccent people have to admit to crimes they haven't committed. The SECRET SERVICES - such as th FBI and the CIA seem to have the powers of an alternative government.
Britain, on the other hand has evolved a much gentler culture. Because of the strength of socialist sentiment, even at times of right wing governments, British people have in their hearts more an understanding of mutual welfare and the common good.
British people are therefore more democratic in the true sense of the word.

Americans have a surface layer of politeness that has been lost in Britain for some time. Here I'm constantly surprised by the old fashioned good manners. Americans also have a veneer of friendliness that is missing in the UK. Britains are much more likely to call a spade a bloody shovel. Underneath the surface I find people very similar in both places. I don't really like the surface friendliness here as it is patently false.
Culturally America is a new country and appears to me as a nation to have the mental age of an adolescent whereas Britain is an older country and more cynical and world weary. I prefer the cynicism. These national attitudes do rub off onto citizens. Americans are often immature and see issues in black and white whereas Brits are more likely to see things in shades of grey so can whine and complain about anything. I like to be around people who can whine inventively.
I find Americans to be more overtly religious than Brits. In Britain religion isn't really a fit subject for polite conversation whereas here in the USA I've had salespersons telling me about their relationship with god while I try to buy household goods. Yeuch. I don't care what people believe, I just don't want to hear about it.

No their are european immigrants in all of latin american. I'm mexican and have basque (french and spanish) and indigenous background. My sister is really pale and my other sister is tanned. I cant even distinguish my own family so how do you expect me to answer this? I have a round face but not a wide nose...my sisters dont have either. Were not a race just cause we fill forms that say hispanic/latino. That term was invented here in the USA so that they can not how many of us are here from latin america. since you know american government always has to seperate people by none other than race/ethnicity.

We speak our language the Americans Butcher it.
We have a head of state that is a scot and financially very savvy, the americans have a soldier who is more cowboy than sheriff.
We appreciate that the world is not a commodity, but a cherished gift. Therefore we attempt to reduce our emissions and America ignore them.
We still believe we are a super power, while are clearly not, America know they are super power.
We are not all English, and bitterly argue this point. America embraces its diverse origins.

Yes the accents are different and obviously most of the world has a bad image of americans from the movies and its a sad day indeed when the world believes everything they see or hear in movies, without getting the information themselves

Seriously, even the most base English humor has a touch of sophistication about it. American humor is sophisticated to an extent, but the baser it gets, the baser it is, period.
Most things about English or British people are sophisticated, though they can be just as bad as the Americans, or even worse, when it comes to manners.
Go to the U.K. and you will find that many black people speak with the same accent as white people; you will almost never find that in America.
And as far as minority groups go, I believe most minority groups in America consist of Indians, Latinos, Filipinos, Japanese, Chinese, African-Americans, and Arabs. In the U.K., there are less Filipinos and mainland Chinese and more people from British colonies such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar. There are many Indians as well, but in the U.K., Pakistanis and Sri Lankans abound. There are blacks from sub-Saharan Africa as well, but a lot of consist mostly of those from the West Indies, such as Jamaica. The Hispanic community is composed largely of those from Iberian Spain, and there is also a substantial amount of Jews and Arabs living there, as well.
As far as modern music goes, America's rock scene concentrates mainly on heavy metal and grunge, whereas Britrock is much easier on the ears and contains large elements of classic rock, glam rock, garage band and post-punk revival. America's indie scene consists largely of pop-punk and emo bands whereas Britain's indie scene concentrates more on postpunk and garage band. American pop music is mostly trashy nowadays and focuses less on the music and more on the assets, whereas Britpop tries to strike a balance between the two.
As far as sports go, most British follow association football, or soccer, and most Americans follow American football.
There's actually more than that, but I can't think of any more. Hope these helped. :D

Being a citizen of U.S. I have to agree with the first poster. I love to listen to English people talk, even a comedian sounds more elegant then some American philosophers.
