I prefer them in the 80's and early 90's...basically up until Achtung Baby..they're still good now but the songs aren't as good now as they were then...what are some of your favorites?
I like Bad, A Day Without Me, A Sort of Homecoming, I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Two Hearts Beat as One, The Electric Co., Party Girl, and the entire Joshua Tree album is excellent...

No contest. 80s U2 is the best. I liked them when they were really earnest and not trying to be hip (90s albums). In terms of 80s greatness, U2 was second only to REM (who has been consistently terrible since 1996).

Zooropa was the last album I owned (it's was just OK). Everyone remembers Pop as a disaster, of course, but at least the band was still trying to experiment. They've played it far too safe on the last two albums (based on what I've heard on the radio).

Top Five U2 albums:
1. The Joshua Tree
2. The Unforgettable Fire
3. War
4. Achtung Baby
5. Boy

Early years all the way. I actually do like the albums Zooropa and Pop (I didn't before, but they grew on me). After that, I lost interest. That "beautiful day" song is just boring.

I like Sunday Bloody Sunday, Seconds, and Desire. Out of the U2 albums I listen to, Joshua Tree is the worst (IMHO).

I like the early stuff a lot better. I thought the stuff in the middle was pretty good, but there really hasn't been much for me on the most recent couple.

Some favorites:
Bullet the Blue Sky (the Rattle and Hum particularly)
I Will Follow
New Years Day
In God's Country
Sunday Bloody Sunday

Early years hands down, It seemed after The Joshua Tree they were at a decline from what I think. Its just my opinion though.
