I'm planning to fly from pretty much anywhere in the Uk to San Jose, California some time this year. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea when the cheapest time of the year would be to fly? Plus cheapest airline?

Outside of American holidays and our holidays, so September second week onwards...
Cheapest airline depends on what you want on and with your flight and where you are in the uk.
Basic flights with no frills are cheapest.... It is cheaper to have a plane change in transit.... and is cheaper to fly from France or Denmark.
So if your down south, use the new train to paris and fly air france...
If up north, fly with any flight found on a good search engine, that has stops on route.... Try Expedia too they are very good and do cheap flights....
