Judging from the puerile nature of the questions and their complete inability to think analytically I have come to the conclusion that many of our misogynist contributers are at the very most 16.

redblood - I am sure that that is what they have said, but misrepresentation is part and parcel of the internet experience!

Borat, clearly you have not read my question properly as I have not mentioned the analytical capabilities of women.

cloud city - I have not observed the insulting language or absurd hypothetical scenarios from 'the other side'. Examples would be good.

Its pretty obvious that much of the feminist-baiting comments and 'humour' comes from adolescents, probably after a few beers. However if any of the 'trolls' are over 21 and sober then they really need to think hard about where their attitude to women is going to take them in life.

Just taking the other point of view: the other day I pretended to have been cloned by Object of its Ire and posted the question:
'Why are 'women' RUBBISH and men AMAZING!!!?'
It only lasted about 15 minutes before it was deleted, but it was a lot of fun being a troll while it lasted. In a later question a lot of other people enjoyed playing the troll too. Maybe the trolls don't really bother me because I sense there is a bit of troll in all of us.

Edit: If you need examples; merely browse through the answers given to some of those adolescent questions. While the Trolls in G&WS are usually the anti-feminists, the feminists do not tend to hold back once provoked (which is why these Trolls continue to ask these questions).

Hmmm, no. I've spoken to a fair few men who are regulars here and they range in age on average from 25-35 years old. There are of course, younger and older men.
Some of them are just stirring and causing trouble of course, but then some of them have just had bad experiences with women or feminists and are trying to get women to see their point of view, but sometimes we misinterpret what is said or the words may come out wrong.
Won't take any guff personally of course, but at the same time if a man makes a reasonable attempt without undue blaming or negativity towards women, then I'll listen to what is being said.

A lot of contributors 'seem' to be adolescent judging by remarks, but I find that sometimes they ask a question in a way that tests your powers of patient answering. Not flying off the handle and managing to refute a nonsense wins the day.

The only other thing I can think of is that they might also bring down the average age of contributors, but I can't say if that's a pro or a con.......

I wouldn't spent much time analyzing what gender, age group, social status anyone on-line is... seems like a dead end to me, as you will never really know.
