Who was in control of the House, Senate, Executive Branch, and the Supreme Court for six years?
The Repubs had plenty of time to "fix" all the ills of society with their turn at the helm.
Strangley enough, utopia does not look like I thought it would.
Thanks for playing.

I love all the attention that immigration has gotten these days. I also love how those who rant about it have obviously never truly studied it or have only focused on the parts that make their case. This country has relied on immigration, on way or another, since the ancestors of the First Nations first migrated from Asia. Much more recently we have relied on immigrants for cheap labor. Check the Bracero Program. It's only during times of economic ressession that people really start complaining about immigration.
Also, your political comments are flawed. You say while the Republicans vote to curb the invasion... Republicans held both sides of Congress and the White House for years. Everything they pretty much wanted passed. If the Republicans kept voting to curb this invasion as you say, it would have been a done deal long before the Democrats came to power. Democrats have been in power in Congress for a much shorter period. Why do you blame them? This problem, as you call it, began long, long ago. Also, like many people, you seem to forget that a bill involves many many issues that often have NOTHING to do with the main element of it. How do you think we got a bridge built to the middle of nowhere in Alaska? There are times when you have to look at the entire bill and weigh the good and the bad. I'm guessing most of us, Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike, do not do that, we only see the parts we care about in a bill.

It is amazing how right wingers can get it wrong so much of the time.
1. Bush sided with the democrats on most immigration issues - Securing the border, allowing more workers in legally and providing a path to citizenship for those living and working here for a long time.
2. The Republicans screamed at Bush and blocked all meaningful attempts at reform.
3. The Democrats blamed at the Republican leadership in congress, not Bush who was on their side (more or less)
It is not the invasion that needs curbed. We need immigration to sustain our economy, at least more than is currently allowed legally. Bush and the democrats set out to correct an incorrect immigration policy that led to illegal immigration. The right wingers only goal is simply to stop immigration period without regard to the needs of the country or compassion to people filling those needs.

Sorry, I don't think what you've said is true.
But let me bring THIS up again: Last year, all the illegal immigrants got together and decided to stage a massive protest of the U.S.'s stand on their illegal status. They gathered and protested. When I asked, last year, why Bush didn't just send the National Guard out to round them up and deport them, I was told two things:
1. "Bush is afraid the liberals will get mad," and
2. "It would take too much work."
If those really are the reasons... how passionate IS our President about keeping illegals out of this country?
Not only that... I am a Democrat, and I am TOTALLY OPPOSED to illegal aliens even BEING here, much less benefitting from our system.
However, Bush's Republican-led Congress refused to ever do anything about it.
So I don't want to hear about how it's JUST the Democrats who are keeping them here. The Republicans controlled our entire government for the first six years of Bush's Presidency, and I didn't see them doing ANYTHING.

Everybody needs to wake up and realize that immigration is a joke. The plan for the NAU is going foward and is the reason our elected leaders look the other way. The Clintons and the Bushs are equally involved.
In fact everyone that is a CFR member is working towards it.
Oh yes someday Mexico will be nothing more than a giant corn field supplying ethanol to the masses.

Bush has been president for 7 years and for 6 of those years he had a republican congress. Yet, according to you, the immigration problem is somehow the democrats fault? Learn to think for yourself and stop regurgitating what you've been spoon fed by the righties on the radio.

The only way to get rid of illegals is to lock-up employers - it will never happen -the republicans will ensure it never does -you don't need to worry about democrats on this issue.

I blame both parties but you have to admit if the republicans really wanted to secure our borders then they could have done it when the republicans had control of the majority of the government.

It's a joint effort between Nancy and George but if they keep pointing the finger at each other maybe no one will notice they are also behind it.
