Although I have never been a Martha fan I DO subscribe to the theory that people pay for their crimes by fines and jail time and then are "rehabilitated" back into the work stream. What Martha did what what most people would do if someone told them they were about to lose a bundle of cash. I have bigger issues with Marv Albert being given work by NBC again because I tend to look at sex crimes in a different light..

Not a big Martha Stuart fan myself but, The amount of money in question was very small in light of her assets, I think less than $200.000, so my best guess is her broker needed to go to jail. I really don't think she knew she was doing anything illegal at the time. I believe she was convicted because ignorance can't be used as an excuse to not prosecute. Why would she risk it when that is small change to her. Besides she did go to jail so her debt to society is paid either way.

every successful corporation in America most likely cheated and stole their way into it. Martha's company makes very marketable products which is why whe's still so successful. At least she served the punishment given to her which is more that a lot of rich/famous people can say.

I have a big problem with your posting this NON-ROYAL related question here. Martha Stewart is not royalty;she is a personality in the entertainment field.
I also have a big problem with people who don't know the whole story. She went to prison for lying;there are bigger crooks in the world like Ken Lay from Enron who cost people their retirement!

Forgive and Forget.

She didn't do anything outrageous where the world should stop buying her stuff. I'm far more interested in banning people's ideas and items sold in stores that have killed, raped, or anything else that falls under a more serious category.

Are you really that concerned with what Martha has done?

All she did was tell one little lie. Or at least, that's what she got punished for.

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a huge mistake, and she did pay for it.

Look at Hillary. Everyone seems to have forgotten all that Whitewater junk, and are even considering voting for her for the presidency of the US. Don't you have a problem with that? I do.

I don't watch her show, but I don't see how her tax thing has anything to do with her being able to cook and decorate. She did her time. People still love Tim Allen, and he did time for drug dealing.

She was convicted of lying about a crime she wasn't charged with. If that's a crime, then let's get the rest of the gummin.
