i just got hired at burgerking and i didnt even expect to be put on diner duty ..(mopping floors, taking out the trash, sweeping, cleaning the table, cleaning the trays... etc).. and i asked them if i can do another job.. and i was complaining about it for a while.. but once i got started i was in it for a while then i was so embarasessed by everyone staring at me and all that while i was doing that.. so i kept goign back inside where everyone else was.. (not where the customers were).. apperntly the managers were complaining about me and said i didnt do a good job.. i even had one manager practically yell at me u either stay or u can quit if u dont want to do this.. so i choose to stay.. anyways .. afterwords the manager takes me inside the main room and tells me i have to return the uniform?? is that fair.?? shouldnt i get a second chance?? its my first time and i didnt know i was like on probabtion or they were marking me and alll that.. i thought i got to choose... what do u think?

It doesn't sound like you gave it your all this time. You don't get to pick and choose the work you do at any job. I know you are young and being in the work force is all new to you so now you have a better understanding about what is expected of you on your next job. You seem very smart and I am sure there are much better opportunities in store for you in the future.....especially if you further your education. Just remember that how you work ( regardless of the job you are doing ) is a reflection of who you are.

It may not be a glamorous job but you were hired to do a job and if you don't like it or complain about it the boss has the right to let you go. Every job you get will be the same. My advise is ask your friends if they know of positions open where they work and ask them what the duties involve. If it sounds like something you would do for a pay check then apply and if your friends don't mind and have a good repore with the boss you could use them for reference

Totally fair. You didn't do the job as asked. When you get hired, THEY are the boss not you. Maybe you just aren't ready to be in the real world. Good luck next time.

It was fair. When you are hired for a job, you have to do as you are told to do. Not what you want to do. You received a good lesson for your next job.

Gee, you sound so smart. They probably should have just made you manager on your first day.
