I wonder what type of action I can take against a parent who has accused me, a teacher for askning her child to follow directions in our parent pick up line.

The parent was trying to load her child in the wrong area and I asked her to pull up and told her son not to load there. She left a very nasty phone message in my classroom threatening my job with the school board for undermining her authority as a parent.

She was clearly in the wrong and I want to stop her from making calls like this to me or my employer again. What do I do?

Ignore her, or call her back.
But watch what you say to her.
She's just trippin really,
She will get OVER It soon enough.

Say nothing - do not give her any more ammo. Right or wrong this can only hurt you. Document everything but do not tell anyone, contact your union. Try and record everything on a small hand held recorder. I unfortunately told people I had recordings so they backed off and I lost my chance to sue the hell out of them. Nail the *****.

Call her and talk it out. I'm sure it was a mis-communication on both of your parts. She may have thought that you were being rude, you may have thought that she was being irrational. Maybe both of you were just having a bad day. Tell her honestly that you were just doing your job. If you were being a bit snotty, admit it and apologize. Honesty, communication and understanding should be able to solve this.

You should report this incident to your principal first of all to protect yourself. One phone call isn't harassment, but if she keeps it up, you can then take legal action.

She can't really get you out of your job for telling her to follow rules. If I were you though, I would be very careful as you know she will be trying to find any misconduct to report you.

bullies learn from their parents. I'm willing to bet the kid is a monster too. Report the incident to your principal and leave it in his hands. If it persists, call the police.

Well, someone "above" you has made the rules you are following. If you are doing things the way you have been instructed to, report her to that person.
