Even though I'm not religious, I admire Mother Teresa most because she gave her life to help the most unfortunate people and give hope and comfort to the poor and ill. She was so loving and unselfish.

Daisaku Ikeda
He has dedicated his life to continued learning and, since he was 19, help humanity overcome the causes of the grief that saturates this world and bring out more of the joy.
Ikeda had to quit evening college in order to help his teacher during hard times and now has the most honorary PhDs and professorships of anyone in history. He has led the SGI through thick and thin since 1959 and is completely absorbed in helping the world stave off the waves of effects from the deluded causes we keep making.
We humans have so much potential for good and Ikeda tirelessly works to help bring that out.

The Person I admire the most, it's my next door Neighbor, his Wife was Diagnosed with Breasr cancer, and she had to go through a lot of operations, her Husband Alfred, was always there for her, he decided to terminate his Employment, because they had to travel to San Antonio, Texas for the Chemotheraphy. He decided to buy Antique furniture to compensate his spending Trips, and mind you they have three Children who depended on his Earnings, I guess God was watching out for them, because he always sold a lot of Furniture, and he made enough Money to go the 150 miles, and back, and still had some left over for Groceries and the Bills. That was Six months ago, He says he gives thanks to God because they found out his Wife is out of Danger, and her Cancer is gone, but as a Precaution she has to go every six Months to find out if it has not come back again.

(Ayn Rand comes a close second -- see above for reasons.)

Abraham Joshua Heschel. He had a spiritual understanding unlike any other I've ever witnessed and his writings helped me have a greater understanding of God. He was one of the first rabbis to join the civil rights movement and he marched with Martin Luther King, Jr., when his colleagues were saying he should be at home praying about it. He changed their minds with his actions.

Elvis - He was SO talented and had a beautiful voice with a range that was just unbelievable. He could arrange and create anything and make it look easy. He was an entertainer from beginning to end. He was a very talented individual. It's a shame what he let drugs do to him. I loved him and miss him still.

Steve Waugh, the man of steel nerves, have taken the game of cricket to very high levels and his name will be eternally engraved in the hearts of cricket lovers if not in record books.

Ayn Rand, she had the courage to oppose the greatest forces known to man in her day, and her philosophy single handed brought down the communist regime in her home land (Russia) the same evil regime that stole her family's life.
The library of congress, out of it's 200,000 books has listed her book "Atlas Shrugged" as the second most influential book on American thinking next to the Bible! Who has done more for civilization than that in the last century besides Bill Gates ? Whom directly benefited from her.
