A thousand times YES!!!! I would be against anyone who felt the government was more important than the people. Hitler promoted state ordered sterilization (this happened in the US also). He was able to take personal property from his enemies and dole it out to those he felt were good Germans. He used many people as scapegoats and was able to manipulate an entire country through fear and vengeance. To him, life was cheap. He was arrogant enough to believe that he knew what was best for everyone. He also believed that war was totally justified as a way to make his country stronger. I could go on and on - Hitler was one of the worst leaders this planet ever produced.

If it wasn't for the holocaust, Hitler wouldn't be hated near as much. I'm a history buff and I can't even remember the name of the leader of Germany during WW1. If Hitler hadn't committed the most heinous act of genocide in human history, I believe he'd be known only by kids in school and history teachers.

edit: Thanks Menifee.
edit: Top contributor, no fair changing from Hindenburg, you had me checking that out. lol ^_^

"Kaiser Bill" started WWI - for the poster who couldn't remember his name. Kaiser Wilhelm...
(Kaiser Bill went up a hill to take a peek at France.
Kaiser Bill came down the hill with buckshot in his pants.
playground rhyme from my childhood

Yes, I think I would still have hated him. He was an extremist, and ideologue, and his policies would have inevitably victimized someone. That's how he THOUGHT, and that's why he deserves the enmity of civilized people.

Even if he didn't murder over 6 million jews, he still wanted to rule the world. He still would have invaded the other countries in Europe and kill anyone who opposed him.

So the answer is a resounding YESIII

Not as much. Hitler was actually a pretty good leader. It's just that the holocaust and a few other things gave him a real bad name. If it wasn't for the holocaust he would probably have been a better leader than Tony B Liar and Mr Bean.

Yeah. He was a madman hell-bent on world domination. He attacked his own people. His actions directly lead to the deaths of 55-70 million people! By the highest estimates, only 10% of them were Jewish.

Probably. The Facsist ideology installs fear in the people to keep order. Citizens are suspect at all times.

He still killed a lot of people who were non-Jews in taking over Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, et al.

He was not a very good man; no "what if" is going to cleanse his soul of the many lives he had killed and adversely affected.

After thinking about it, I'll answer truthfully.
Yes. The Holocaust was the result of his deranged political and social philosophy. That's what I abhor.
