I think no matter what, it will always be a celebration of Christ's birth... so they can call it whatever they want... in my mind it will always be Christ's birth.

Hey, I understand what your saying but I think poeple arent really changing it, they are just coming up with a shortname to it like changing William to Bill. I use it when I type someone really fast or just trying trying to save space. The meaning is still there and is not intended on changing it as a whole just more of a shortcut!
From the web;
"Xmas" and "X-mas" are common abbreviations of the word "Christmas". They are sometimes pronounced "eksmas", but they, and variants such as "Xtemass", originated as handwriting abbreviations for the pronunciation "Christmas". The "-mas" part came from the Anglo-Saxon for "festival", "religious event": Crīstesmæsse or Crīstemæsse. This abbreviation is widely used but not universally accepted; some view it as demeaning to Christ, whilst others find it a helpful abbreviation

Doesn't matter how you call or name the occasion. All glory to the Lord as he is equal to all. It can be that rich celebrate it differently or make use of the occasion. But not 100 % of them use it. Similarly not 100% of the poor celebrate it as mentioned. It all depends on the way they worship God. Whoever misuses it it will be punished and who ever offers prayers will be blessed. Follow Bible. Follow God. Have Faith. He will teach you every thing

I don't even think about it because it is CRAP! I go out of my way saying "Merry Christmas" when they try to shove "Happy Holidays" on me. I will do the same with this Xmas crap...

Christmas is all about Christ , it is like celebrating someones birthday you dislike so much you won't say their name. Without Christ there is no Christmas.
