Depends on who the VP is. They would be sad but relieved.

I would give my support to the Vice President, as long as he or she goes into office knowing it isn't his or her Presidency, but Hillary's, and they are honor-bound to continue to support her policies, as those are the policies which put Hillary in the White House in the first place.
On the other hand, if it was an al Qaida strike which killed my Commander in Chief, I would do what every self-respecting Republican has been doing for the last 7 years: Blaming their security failings on the previous Commander in Chief.
Only problem is, we will be CORRECT in doing so.

I'm assuming that the country would grieve for the loss of one of their own, as should be expected anytime such a tragedy should occur. The ceremony should also be conducted with all due honor and respect that comes with the office.
I'm sure there is a lot of scum that would rejoice at their passing but those people need not be considered.

The VP would become President, and the world would continue.
And FOX News would have a ball!
'Greta investigates'! 'Hannity gloats'!
Ever heard of 'gleeful mourning'?

Who's the second in command in this scenario? My reaction would be dependent on how great of a president she was. It would be sad though...

I think the people who answered that they'd be happy are really disgusting.
I can't stand George W. Bush and even I wouldn't be "happy" if he died.
People are twisted and ugly creatures.
