i'd say in that big band genre, no doubt, but there are so many drumming styles out there, it's hard to say the "best ever."

let's not forget about dennis chambers: those pocket grooves are unmatched. stuart copeland: those police reggae/backbeat grooves. jeff porcaro: famous for the pop grooves. john bonham...i mean all these different styles...we could go on forever here.

Buddy Rich was great, but Gene Krupa and Elvin Jones were definitely up there as well.
