I like Mike, but really doesn't affect my day if he wishes Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. I'm not offended by either.

I love how the media and the far left (not all democrats are far left) likes to twist a good, wholesome commercial into a steaming pile of doo doo. It is refreshing to get these kind of ads, rather than the smash and bash ads in the political world.

I think huckabee is a great guy and the Christian thing isn't the reason i'm voting for him, nor does it qualify him to be president. His 10+ years of executive experience as governor and the leadership being chair of the National Governor's Association (made up of both Dems and Reps.) qualify him to be president.

For anyone questioning whether that would make him a good president, Bill Clinton had a very similar tenure being the governor for 10+ years and being chair of the NGA. Republicans: I know that you all don't like to complement Clinton, but you have to admit that many of his policies were good. (I will, in the same way, admit that many policies of his were not good either, but at lease he had a much better presidential rating than the current president.)

Furthermore, any moderates that don't know who to vote for should look at the fact that both Republicans and Democrats from the far sides of their party are bashing on Huckabee. Just a thought. :)

I'd like it fine if I thought that's why he was doing it.

This is classic Mike Huckabee. He can't do anything, or say anything, without reminding people that he's the most conservative and Christian candidate running.

Some are blindingly obvious, as when he suggested that he's best able to handle the conflict in the Middle East because he has a degree in religion (we all know wars are won by the most devout, don't we?). Some are impressively subliminal, as when he suggested that we should allow children of illegal immigrants tuition breaks because "we shouldn't punish them for the mistakes of their fathers" (can we say Old Testament?).

You tell me which this was: blindingly obvious, or impressively subliminal? You get one guess.

That's up to him, but I do have to wonder how I would feel if I didn't celebrate Christmas.
Did he do a Happy Hanukkah?
Or a Happy Ramadan?
Or a Joyous Kwanzaa?
Of course not, he was reaching out to the fundamentalist base of the Republican party.
That's his right, he makes no excuses for his religion, believes in only 5,000 years of the earths existence, and that God did it all in seven days. And that evolution is for the birds. Not literally either.
I can respect his beliefs in his private life, but I don't know if I want to see it again in government.
And that floating cross, well, I suppose we are lucky Giuliani hasn't had a 'floating' halo over his head while he was standing on the pile.
Pandering is pandering, if that's what the base wants....they got it.
Someone elses religions beliefs isn't an agenda, if anything stuffing Christmas down everyones throat is an agenda.

And sometimes Happy Holidays is just an inclusive greeting.

I hated it. His whole Jesus is the reason for the season was a great big F you to those Americans who are not Christian. As a Pagan who is a former soldier and an army wife I feel that it was highly inappropriate for him to say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays or both. If Hukabee wins the election(Goddess forbide) he will no doubt try to turn this into a christian theocracy and to hell w/ everyone else. That is the last damn thing we need.

Loved it.

I'm agnostic for the most part, but was raised Christian. I love Christmas for the spirit of the season. It doesn't matter to me that I don't hold any religion as absolute truth - I still believe in good will towards others and the Christmas season is all about that.

Merry Christmas! Happy Hannakuh! Killa Kwanza, Whatever. Spread the warmth.

Yes I like it very much also. A wonderful political ploy though. very smart. Again though I ask why is he only showing it in the 3 states Iowa,N.H., S.C. The 3 states all the candidates are fighting for right now, I do feel I might be being used.

I am a a christian so whenever I hear "Merry Christmas" come from a high political figure or someone who gains a lot of attention, I tend to take more interest in them. Mike Huckabee has already been on "The Colbert Report" so I have already enjoyed him for a while. And even if you don't like Huckabee, just be glad you don't like Hillary Clinton (ugh... I don't even like her name >.<)

I am not republician but on the view yesterday they were commenting about in the background how the shelf looked like a cross. Now I cant believe you idiots will classify someone just because it was a book shelf that did resemble a cross but it wasnt focused on that......But then you have the idiots who want to support someone with the same religion as our terriorists.....not me.......
