Booty call, for instance, makes light of what is actually going on. Someone asked a booty call question, and I don't REALLY know what it is, but know it entails sex, so isn't that a silly word for something so important?

Slang is just part of the human condition.

Think about how people curse. Its no different. They take something important and make it trivial by just throwing it around. Or, they take something trivial and swear by it (cursing is a form of swearing).

Humanity is in many ways, innately lazy. We continually make our words shorter and easier, since we don't want to have to take the time to write or type them all. Just look at the things used in chatrooms and even here.

A booty call means that a person uses another person for sex, only. The person means nothing more than that. It is negative if it's one sided, but OK if it's a mutual "booty call" arrangement. It's a a term that has been around for a while and it's not so silly if you think about it. Those two words say it all.

Booty call is exactly what it says, a phone call soliciting booty. And not in the pirate sense.
