I am so glad you asked this question! If I had the power to do something great in this life, helping others, I would help drug addicts to find a better way to live. I would turn to God to ask for guidance on how I should do this, and IF I should be doing this...I am a recovering addict myself, and I feel I have some knowledge about addiction, and how to change a life around. All too often, do addicts get ignored in society, and treated 'less than' I would also like to set up 'sober/clean homes' all around the U.S. that are AFFORDABLE to the addict. These sober homes in Massachusetts have outrageous rent, when really, they should be cheap for people that most likely dont have the money to pay!

I am a certified nurses assistant, it's what I feel I was meant to do, if you go in the hospital with a broken leg and arm, I am the one who is going to help you in the shower, I am the one to get you to the bathroom, I will brush your teeth, I am your leg and arm that you can't use, I will help you eat, all that stuff you do for yourself I will be there to help you with, you will see me more than your doctors and nurses, I guarantee it and I will enjoy it because it's what I love to do, but I would also love to help people that can't afford to pay for a caregiver, maybe even overseas, but at this time in my life my family is priority and I can almost bet it's the same for a lot of people, but if I could I wouldn't hesitate, I don't know how but I can be creative, and I do know people that could help, it's just not possible right now.

The greatest preventable ills besetting mankind are war, poverty, famine and plague.
Three of those – poverty, famine and plague - could be vastly reduced by eliminating overcrowding, and that could be done just with self-imposed population control using education and contraceptive techniques.
Teaching safe sex, making condoms available, teaching hygiene (hand-washing) and public health (no sewage in the river, running water) as well as providing inexpensive antibiotics would go a long way toward cheaply and effectively preventing a lot more of the world’s misery as well.
But there are powerful people in the world who oppose these ideas. They want wealth, comfort and privilege concentrated, and war is profitable for them, and overcrowding produces an endless supply of cheap and desperate labor.
War will continue as long as there are multiple countries and governments. Everybody’s been taught by the masters of the world to object to a one-world government, but you can probably figure out why if you think about who runs the world and who propagates those ideas. It’s the same ones who make socialism (sharing through taxing) a dirty word. Those same people keep us cheering for our own flag and our own religion to keep us at war with other flags and other faiths.
Fewer countries means fewer wars. If the American South had succeeded in seceding, and there were two countries where one has stood, how many wars do you think that those two countries would have fought by now? Two? Four? If the Jews, Christians and Muslims saw themselves as different denominations of the same religion instead of separate religions, how man present day wars would be affected?
So, if I advocate world unity and minimal socialism with tolerance of other religions, in my country, America, I am promptly vilified for each of those. Look at what we get instead. Needless war and needless poverty, even in the wealthiest country in the world, so that a privileged few can continue to play the rest of us like checkers by keeping us angry, afraid and needy. I don’t expect anyone from America to agree. I know better. The masters tell us what we should believe and we mostly believe it, not realizing that we are being used against ourselves.
So, breaking through that system of lies and teaching the opposite principles would allow us to make it a much better world for billions of us at the expense of some fabulously wealthy and powerful people.
That would be my gift to the world: one just, tolerant and well-educated world by breaking through the lies of those who hurt us. And it would be easy to do if we could just teach peace and sharing. But they won’t let us, and we can’t see how they play us.
EDIT - I just read the post after mine. I rest my case.

The first priority would be clean, available water. This is such a huge undertaking. To even contemplate it is huge in scope. But necessary. Necessary before anything else, because w/o clean available water there is going to be no quality of life...and if one suffers, we all suffer. And until this becomes a global realization the human species is in trouble.

I would try to make the world not dependent on the sources and help them not pollute the world. I would really love to do that.

sad part is our world holds to many problems terrible problems and its hard to tackle one. poverty, diseases, abuse physical and mental and serial killers, wars ahhh so many things i would like to fight but see abuse happens to us mental or physical at some stage of our lives and we can put it behind us if we're strong, wars can be ended easily if we just put our greeds behind and no superpower is needed...poverty can be prevented if we all pay our taxes and if our government can just work uncorrupted.....serial killers and rapist are punished in our world already but disease see man is still trying to fight that one with all his might and still sometimes coming up short so i would want the power to cure all human illness's whether they be cancer, aids, fever or anything Else. That would be what i would like to tackle FIRST of all. =)

We have the best example of huminitarian behaviour ......
i.e. of MOHHAMAD YUNUS ,who is the NOBALE prize winner of privious year .
We need not to help poors by giving them money. Poors are capable of earning their money, you have to only give them a chance to prove themselves . they needs small debts
and any way of self employment. so i will follow same path of
Mohhmad Yunus by giving them money on very low interest and without any diposit.

the greatest thing you can do for humanity is produce and consume. Make a profit, so the jobs you create have true value. Consume consume consume! Bu big homes, big cars and truck, big boats, keep America working! Charity kills, it rewards people who have bad work ethics. It keeps them poor so they won't compete with you and your illusion of security. Charity is evil and those that support it are damned.
