I have just started building a model remote controlled boat, and I have yet to purchase a RC unit and servos etc.
Does anyone know what a good entry level model that will be still useful as I progress?

for a boat you need at least 2 channels to start with so any of these will work http://search.horizonrc.com/index.jsp?N=5482&sid=116F7DB8EA98
if you want more things to move look for a 4-6 channel radio for serface use
have fun

Acoms or Futaba 2 channel radio systems the type used with model racing cars..there are more on the market but they do get more expensive on the number of channels and radio waves FM seems to be more expensive than AM..visit your local hobby shop as they will properly know more than me,as I am more into r.c model racing cars.

If you contact your local university, perhaps the engineering department will build one for you as a project.
