I joined plentyoffish.com a couple of months ago. I have dated one man and corresponded with a few others, and it has been a lot of fun so far. There's nothing sad about it - it just gives you another option for meeting people. Most men my age are in relationships, and I am just as likely to be bothered by married men and liars in real life as i am on the internet.
I have heard of many people who have had great success on dating sites and are now in long term relationships. If you are thinking of trying online dating, I would recommend trying a free site first, such as Plenty of Fish (this site is completely free, unlike some that advertise that you can sign up for free, so you go to all the trouble of creating your profile but then find that you can't contact anyone until you send money). There are loads of other dating sites, though I don't see the point of paying for the service if you don't have to.

Yes I have been on a few and while it is a great way to meet people you run the risk of them being less than economical with the truth. An example a woman put a photo on the site and when I met her did not recognise her it was 12 years ago the photo was taken so she was dishonest.
The main thing is you have to be honest in respect of what you want and what you are after otherwise you are fooling people.

yes and I've done this so many time thinking it would get me some where but its such crap. The men and women that are on there tend to search for free "action". They prefer calling it " looking for some fun". Its a big waste of time. I've even went on the dating phone services as well, ones that were free. That was such a big waste. I ended up finding some women who were in the same shoes as me, looking for some one who could be in our lives ( for dating purposing ...etc. ) and just vented on our lives and how men are dogs. But that was it. I realized it was a way for people to get laid with out paying for it. Its suck that a lot of people who are looking for love can't seem to find it even when there's a phone number or a site to get involved in to find some one in the same shoes as you.

Yes, it was fine except most ladies seemed to use photos of their sisters or themselves when they were 20 years younger :-(
I tried to make my profile as honest as possible, but happened to meet a great gal thru mutual friends, (We were both on the same site but we didn't realise we were both on it and never connected. Could have saved myself £60!!!!! obviously, being generous wasn't one of my mentioned attributes!)

Yeah, a you know what I got? First, I got about 6007968,000 porno spam offers. I get like 69 a day!!!!!!! Then I got a bunch of idiots wanting NSA sex. That was all they wanted. Beside a detailed description of what color panties I was wearing. What a stupid thing to do.

Yes...................
When you find yourself:
1) living in a small place (low population)
2) all your buddies have already "done" anybody available
3) you wish to "lever" yourself to someplace else
You have little other choices, but to "reach out".
I met some absolutely ASTOUNDING ladies "out there", married one of them, no regrets.
