Seriously, I have bad neighbors too and this is what we do.
First, determine what is annoying and what is downright illegal with what they are doing (music too loud at odd hours, trespassing, etc). When they do something illegal, talk to them about it. Sometimes they are not aware that it's illegal and sometimes they do not know it's a bother to others. If they continue doing the illegal activity after you have talked to them about it, call the authorities.
Second, if their behavior is just annoying you, talk to them about it so that they are aware it's bothering you. Since it's not illegal, you really can't do anything about it but hopefully they will be neighborly and try to listen to your concerns.
Third, always be kind to them. I know this is really, really hard to do sometimes but it will net better results in the end. When they see you coming over and you have been nothing but polite, they will not be defensive. It's always better to try and keep the dialogue open because most people would rather know in advance if they are bothering someone than have a police officer come over and tell them.
I hope this helps you some and GOOD LUCK! We've had our neighbors since July and have had to tell them a) not to use our water hoses, b) not to drive in our field, c) not to park in the entrance of the driveway therefore blocking anyone from coming in and d) not to pick our grapes or fruit off our trees. These seem like things that "normal" people wouldn't do and you shouldn't have to mention to someone not to do. There are also other things they do and so we are going to put up and fence and see what happens after that. If things are still bad, I'm sending over my husband and brother to work it out. For the time being, we have to learn to make the best of it but it is quite irritating!

not saying thi IS how you should handle it, but whaen i was young my mom and our neighbour HATED each other, and we lived in a town house! My mom, built a fence, then the neighbors extended it. my mom planted flowers, so the neighbour planted shrubs, it was a constant 1 up of each other. till 1 day i came donwn stairs to find my mom blaring the stereo as loud as it would go with the speakers directly against the dividing wall! apperantly my mom had gone over to ask her to turn her radio down, only to have her turn it up. Mom just snapped i guess, but i still laugh every time i think about it.
All i am saying is don't allow them to intimidate you

Talk politely to them and gradually they will stop irritating you

just ignore them.unless they are destroying your property or breaking a law that affects you personally.
