Well i have a band, i'm the lead guitarist. We are 4: 2 guitarists 1 bassist and 1 drummer. Our favorite band is Iron Maiden so we are playing all their awesome songs. We currently are practicing on aces high all of us have mastered the song except the drummer. He's talented, but he practices rarely and very rarely because of that he can't play aces high on the right rythm. But we have bought the drums together everyone paid. My question is what to do ????
P.S.: i can't just tell the drummer to leave us because he also paid for the drums!!!!

Then you need to sit him down and talk to him. My husband is a drummer...awesome drummer and that's because he practices 2 hrs a day. He plays in a tribute band here in town and we tour all over our country...and this is just a hobby!!! If your drummer can't play to a click track, then you're screwed. Timing is everything... he needs to have all his beats down pat...the drummer is the key to all timing in the band... if he hasn't got that, then you need to seek out another drummer if you want to be successful.

im a drummer and it took me bout a 1 year to become fully confident with any beat....i now play for a hardcore band and we play heaps of shows so i guess im a bit of a pro now : )

but the drummer should pay for the drums...not you guys thats stupid.....if he has only just started playing you need to give him alot more time...well if he wont practise...tell him that he needs to give you guys the money for the kit so he can then just leave for you's to find another drummer

Patience. Try a new song for a bit. Come back to it. Or do like Slipknot and get two drummers.

Pay him off and get a new drummer. If you want to be 'good', you have to make the tough decisions.
