So, I told my dr I wanted to get preg in feb. He said that's fine, then said I'm a great canidate for Gardasil (the HPV vaccine), I agreed, got it (OUCH!!) and then he said "now, when you're ready to get preg, just come on in & we'll take out your IUD"

So, I'm sitting at home that same night & a commercial came on TV saying "Gardasil is not intended for pregnant women or women who intend on becoming pregnant"

ok, so what the hell? Should I believe the doctor, or the tv? lol

And, so I called my doc and left a message asking him, and he hasn't returned my call. You think he realized he FUBARd? (Fkd Up Beyond All Recognition).. ?

Thank you!! Answers and situational stories appreciated!

Ugh!

I agree with the answerer that stated your doctor is a moron.

Gardasil is so new that no long term studies have been done, so who knows what its doing to you right now.

I would talk to that doctor again, or get a second opinion ASAP (before you go for the second shot).

Your doctor - sounds like a moron. And your second shot, is TWO months after your first, and your last is SIX months after the second.

While receiving the Gardasil shots, it is recommended that you avoid getting pregnant throughout the duration of the vaccine. If you just received the first shot (let's say yesterday for example) you'll have to wait until after August 19th of next year (when you receive your last shot) to start trying for a baby.

I recieved my first shot of Gardasil earlier this year in May. Later that month I got pregnant, but it resulted in a miscarriage. My doctor said it was due to the vaccine.

Your best bet is to just wait it out, or discontinue the vaccinations (if you want a child that bad).

it is a bit funny - seen as your last injection wont be until 6 months after your first one.

I would go back for an appointment to discuss it with your doctor. And maybe even get a second opinion.

What I don't understand is if you are already sexually active why he gave you the shot to begin with. I thought it was given to girls who were not sexually active. I just wouldn't take the rest of the shots if I were you. Definitely pursue answers from your Dr or get a second opinion.

Wait for that dude to call you back and fully, completely answer your question. And by "wait," I mean "call him daily until he returns your call."

Then go to another doc.
