> why would anybody want to do this? It's fun, it's a traditional skill to master, some folks like to be self-sufficient, can get beer that is not commercially available, etc > is the beer better? It can be. There are people who just try to make the cheapest, strongest hooch they can, and other people who make beers to compete against others to make the most accurate example of a particular BJCP style. > does it have a higher alcohol content? It can have, but different styles have different traditional ABV levels. > wouldnt it be easier to just go and buy the beer cause Sure. > it would be cheaper and easy? Probably. > say you can get a 30 pack of budweiser for about 20 dollars or so, > how does this compare to how much you would spend on a home > brewing kit and ingredients? Lager beers are difficult to make at home, but a pure price comparison can be done. It would cost more to make a 5gal (~50-bottle) batch from malt extract, but probably less if you were working from whole grains. My average 5gal batch costs about $15 because I buy grain in bulk and culture my own yeast. >and ive heard about people making their own beer and wine in prison, > how do they do that if they dont have a brewing kit or the right > ingredients? They are making hooch, not shooting for quality. Yeast will convert sugars to ethanol if given the most general requirements. Fruit will naturally ferment on a tree with no humans around at all.

I have made wine from home brew kits but they didn't taste too good and after the second glass all you know from then on is that you wake up in bed fully clothed even wearing your shoes.

Hi,
I can confirm that making money by taking online surveys it's possible. I'm doing a few hundreds dollars a month. The secret is to apply to real campaigns of real companies.

The best resource I found online to find these programs is this site: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=555

My son is into home brewing beer and is experimenting with different flavors, such as coffee and pumpkin. Very different! We haven't tried wine yet.

My Dad used to make it gosh it was strong and non alcoholic.
I must look out for the bottle he made it from. I would recognise it if I seen it but cant remember the name of it.
